A Trip To Dhading The scene is our Thamel based travel and trekking office. The subject: "Where are all the tourists?" Indeed a disappointing situation. So we decide to create our own tourists – our guides and porters in an inverted role become our clients. Management with families and friends become the workers! A bus is rented, equipment and food for a week-end's camping is loaded and thirty five of us drive to Dhading and on to the hills above Nalang village. We carry tents, furnishings, sleeping bags, food and water and establish a fully functioning camp on an airy hill top. Soon smells of delicious cooking wafts through the evening air. The guides and porters experience the comforts of the travellers they usually serve. After an evening of dancing, a sound sleep and a full, tasty breakfast we assemble to talk it all over. There are many comments and suggestions and notes are made about how we would like visiting travellers to feel. And now the guides and porters have become clearer through their own experience.
